EFSA has no scientific evidence indicating the existence of a risk from influenza virus to consumers of pork meat, regardless of the type of pork consumed. However, even if some consumers enjoy raw meat, it has long been recommended to avoid consumption, so as to avoid any risk of food borne illness.
